Japanese music label Lantis signs license agreement with Tracklib

Musicians should prick up their ears now. The music label Lantis, which is part of BANDAI NAMCO Arts , has signed a licensing agreement with the music service Tracklib , which means that the sounds originating from Lantis are now available for sampling.

Artists from the music scene should not be unfamiliar with the term sampling. Tracklib has set itself the task of making sampling as easy as possible for musicians. In the past, there were always disputes between authors and samplers.

Licenses simplify sampling
In sampling, the artist uses specific sound sources from an existing song to incorporate it into their own piece of music. These are mostly sounds that are a few seconds long and are often unrecognizable in the finished song.

Authors whose sounds were used for other tracks usually get nothing. So that both sides benefit, there is the possibility of buying a license on Tracklib in order to incorporate the sounds purchased there into your own song and then distribute them.

Not the first merger for Lantis
The Japanese company Lantis is the publisher of many musicians as well as numerous anime and video game soundtracks. In 2018, Lantis merged with Bandai Visual to form a new company called BANDAI NAMCO Arts, allowing Lantis to continue as a label.

For musicians, the merger of Lantis and Tracklib should be an enrichment for the sampling world. At least you can be sure that various projects will emerge in the future thanks to the two companies.
