CeeLo Green Joins forces with Tracklib to discuss sampling culture, his creative process and collaboration opportunities

Cee Lo Green detailed his beginnings as an emerging artist and creative process in two mini-documents produced by Tracklib the world's first and only digital sample cleanup service.

In "The Dirty South: Inside Southern Hip Hop's Rise to the Top", CeeLo shares his memories of the origins and key influences of Southern Hip Hop and the rise of Dirty South. He recalls recording Goodie Mob's 1995 debut album, Soul Food, and what sampling old funk and soul records means to him.

The bonus video offers an in-depth look at CeeLo Green's "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. In this short film, CeeLo talks about how he turns to cinema for inspiration for his music, and how that inspiration translated into his biggest hit yet.

These videos were produced by Tracklib to shed light on the culture and artistry of music sampling. They also remind that producers around the world still have a chance to show off their sampling muscles to produce, record and release a song with CeeLo Green. The final calls for proposals are December 18 . Full details can be found at www.tracklib.com/ceelo.

“Sampling is an essential element of hip-hop. It is a bridge between generations. Some of this music may fade into oblivion. You may never encounter him unless you are introduced to him [through samples]. (…) Tracklib are good shepherds for sampling. On this front, they are individualists.
