In 2019, New York-based producer Statik Selektah and Houston legend Bun B recorded the album “Trillstatik” from scratch during a 12-hour live stream from a music studio in Brooklyn. The album featured guests including Method Man, Westside Gunn, Fat Joe, Talib Kweli and Paul Wall. The record was released just three days after it was recorded.

On Wednesday, Bun B and Statik Selektah were back in a studio in New York to record the sequel “Trillstatik 2”. The invited guest artists were then still secret. New for this time was that Statik teamed up with the Swedish sampling service Tracklib, from which they will use samples for some of the songs. The making of the album was live streamed on Statik Selektah's Twitch channel.

The album "Trillstatik 2" has now been released, just two days after the recording. The album features guests from Big KRIT, Paul Wall, Dave East, Styles P, Boldy James, Papoose, Smoke DZA, NEMS, 38 Spesh, Grafh, Termanology, Flee Lord and many more. The album will also be released on vinyl in the future.
