Tracklib has long been one of the go-to services for music samples.

The company’s latest partner on the label side is independent label group !K7 Music, which is bringing a swathe of its artists’ music to the service including Brian Auger, Idris Ackamoor and the Pyramids, Strut Records and Black Fire.

The !K7 Music deal follows recent agreements with a number of other independent music labels (Partisan and Edition Records for example) as well as other sources (games publisher Bandai Namco).

Tracklib has been talking publicly about the positive impact its service is having on labels’ catalogues. It recently announced that three of its partners – G.E.D. Soul Records, Statik LNK Music, and Country & Eastern Records – now counted the platform among their top sources of revenues.

It also published some research in December claiming that 17% of Billboard Hot 100 chart hits in the US last year sampled previously-released songs, up from 14% in 2021.
